INTRODUCTION

Bengal Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital is a non-Govt, aided college under Dept. of AYUSH, Ministry of Health & FW, Govt. of West Bengal is having 25 bedded hospital for imparting teaching Homoeopathy to under graduate students.

The Hospital is consisting of Out Patient and In-patient departments providing medical services. The outpatient department functioning from 8.00 a.m. till the last patient is served. Apart from general medicine, some specialized clinics are also in service. A large number of different types of patients from far flung areas seek treatment through Homoeopathic systems of medicine. The hospital has investigation facilities viz. Clinical Pathology, Biochemistry, Radiology, Ultra-Sonography, Lung function test and ECG etc. The Institute has been presently providing Indoor facilities through 25 bedded hospitals. As this is an academic institution, patients suffering from different ailment are admitted for treatment as well as for clinical training of the Under-Graduate students. Considering the increasing demand of Homoeopathic treatment, we are in the construction of Hospital extension building G+3 at the site adjacent to existing hospital building is near completion.

The BHMCH is rendering valuable health care services in Homoeopathy to the needy patients from different areas of rural Bengal. Over the years there is increase in service load due to increase in number of patients attending OPD daily. The Out-patients and In-patients Departments of the Institute provide medical care to the patients suffering from different ailments.

ROGI KALYAN SAMITY: A team of experienced doctors is continuously working for benefit of patients' best service from our end. Following Doctors are the member of samity: Dr. Ramkrishna Bhattacharya , (Superintendant), Dr.  Dipankar Roy (Professor), Dr. Tuhin Mukherjee (Reader), Dr. Amitabha Mukherjee ( Deputy Superintendent ) and Dr. Abir Kanti Sarkar (S.M.O.).

PERIPHERAL OPD (POPD)

2 peripheral OPD’s are functioning twice in a week at Talkuri and Radhanagar, Asansol. The physicians and internees are regularly attending this OPD. The medicines are dispensed to the patients. The monthly average patient turnout was 126.

from 1st March, 2022 a reputed NGO named Institute of Rural Health Awareness and Homoeopathy collaborated with us for free Medical Consultation for their 15 Peripheral OPD.

HOSPITAL RECORD KEEPING:

A systematic data entry and record-keeping of all IPD patients has been initiated and records from 2014 are completed and entered in the database. This is a step forward in the direction of Medical records Division of our college, the soft clinic softwere helps us. envisioned for the future when new hospital building is completed.

AMBULANCE SERVICE:

The hospital also provides Ambulance services for the transportation of patients when required in an emergency. An ambulance is available round the clock for which Debashish Ghatak Foundation provides service as and when required.

OPERATION THEATRE:

The Hospital is having well equipped, one modern Operation Theatre with apparatus/instruments, such as Portable ECG and X-ray etc. Operation techniques are demonstrated to the students for training. The Institute has a common labour room and provides antenatal and post-natal care to the mother and child.

Clinical Materials:

The Hospital is having well maintain Clinical materials like Hammer, Torch, Patient Exam Table, View Box, Stetho, BP, Pulse oximeter, Weghing Scale, ECG, Oxigen, IV Set, Infusion set etc.
